One of the ways we raise much-needed funds for the Centre’s residents is through our annual events and special projects. This is also an enjoyable way to get involved with our community. We encourage committed members to join our planning committee. If interested, please contact Karen Flam at 514-483-2121 ext. 2307.
Over the years, we have held many successful events including Battle of the Bands, and the Golf Tournament.

Battle of the Bands
For more than twenty years, our annual Battle of the Bands fundraiser has been a beloved event in the community, raising much-needed funds for the Centre’s residents.
We give grateful thanks to our generous sponsors and donors. In 2023, we were proud to welcome Scotiabank as our NEW Presentation Sponsor. We would also like to thank National Bank Private Banking 1859 for their loyal past support.
Since the event’s inception in 2003, we have raised over $6 million dollars to greatly enhance the quality of life of the Centre’s residents, ensuring comfort, joy, and dignity.
Golf Tournament
We are incredibly grateful for RBC Wealth Management’s long-time support of our annual golf tournament. Proceeds from the Donald Berman Maimonides annual golf tournament have had a tremendous impact on the quality of life of the residents. Since 2009, proceeds from this event have single handedly supported the Donald Berman Maimonides Centre for Research in Aging.
As a McGill University affiliate, we know that this research will have a direct impact on the quality of care of the Centre’s residents while uncovering, promoting, and sharing new knowledge more broadly. We are helping to take the Centre to the next level, building on its strengths while helping it become the resource of choice for the elderly of Quebec – a model of excellence for long-term care everywhere.
The 2025 Donald Berman Maimonides RBC Wealth Management Golf tournament will be held on Monday, May 26 ,2025 at the renowned Blue Course at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.
Project Feel The Love
During COVID, we started Project Feel the Love to help the Centre’s overworked and exhausted staff to truly feel appreciated during this time of crisis. Thanks to generous donors, our team has provided over 10,000 meals and snacks as well as other items like home-made soups, masks for use outside the facilities, ear guards to make the wearing of masks more comfortable, hand cream for their tired hands, fruit for busy days, and groceries to take home.
Art for Healing
The Donald Berman Maimonides Foundation has enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the Art for Healing Foundation since 2006. Over 1000 pieces of original art hang in all spaces including hallways, dining rooms, activity rooms, and offices. Media represented include paintings, prints, etchings, photographs, and sculptures. This incredible partnership has completely transformed the Centre’s walls.
